§ 38-3. Election of councilmembers; terms of office.

  • At the municipal election in 1988 and every four years thereafter, the qualified electors in each of the districts of the city who are entitled to participate in such election shall elect one councilmember to the city council for the district. Each councilmember so elected shall be a bona fide elector of and must actually reside in the district of his qualification and election. Each such councilmember shall hold office for a period of four years and until his successor shall be elected and qualified or until such councilmember shall resign, die, move his residence outside of the district or otherwise be removed from office.
